Vintage Cake - Stands,

We made the most of the light summer evening by working outside tonight. We have an order for 25 cake-stands for this weekend for a Mid-Summer ball.

I love going through all the old plates working out which one goes best with each one. It is so easily the most fun part of making these vintage cake-stands. It is also a little sad to drill holes in these plates too, as I do get attached to them, sad as it seems!

I'm still a little sad about saying goodbye to the lovely green floral saucer in this photo. Love it!

I was so excited to come across 6 small side plates that had butterfly and flowers on them, as this is the theme for the Summer Ball.

So I have now mixed and matched 75 plates together to make the 25 vintage cake-stands.

Now it's drilling time!

May not see you for a while!!!

  4. Hi Becca
Glad you liked the award. You totally deserve it, your blog is gorgeous.
Am going "cherry tree" shopping today and hoping to find a nice addition to my world of charity items!
How do you drill without cracking the plates? Did someone teach you? Must be hard!
